Gigi

Lerner and Loewe’s cinematic follow-up to My Fair Lady took a number of years to reach Broadway, where its Parisian perfume was greeted with only mild approval. The highly acclaimed MTWichita version in 1994 took a more stylized approach, utilizing the tasteful chamber music-styled orchestrations from the London production, and creating a visual world inspired by great French paintings.

Costumes

Incomparable costume designer Peggy J. Kellner created a delicious collection of principal costumes for this atmospheric story of a young girl in Belle Epoch Paris who grows into womanhood before our eyes. These dynamic designs provide a satisfying theatrical equivalent of Cecil Beaton’s memorable clothing seen in the 1959 film.
