South Pacific

This highly entertaining Rodgers and Hammerstein classic features a musical score filled with famous songs (“Some Enchanted Evening,” “Younger Than Springtime,” “A Wonderful Guy,” “There is Nothin’ Like a Dame,” “This Nearly Was Mine,” “Bali Ha’i,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair”), but endures because of its timeless plea for racial inclusion and an end to all prejudice. Set on a Pacific island during the final days of World War II, South Pacific was embraced all over again when it returned to Broadway in 2008.
