Charles Dickens’ bleak history of Oliver Twist provides the foundation for this surprisingly tuneful and popular musical, with such songs as “Consider Yourself,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Who Will Buy?,” “Food, Glorious Food,” and “I’d Do Anything” driving the show along. Structured quite differently from the Academy Award winning film version, this stage show nonetheless features the same attractive songs, the same dramatic plot, and abundant opportunities for skillful performers of all ages.
