We just received this question in an email, and wanted to share it with everyone…

We are currently rehearsing for the Drowsy Chaperone and have not been able to figure out the quick change behind the umbrella. Could you please help! Thanks so very much!
*****
In the original staging, Janet has several layers of clothing on, from the very beginning of the scene. The umbrella has a pocket in the roof of it, into which the garment Janet removes is stuffed. Does that help ?
If you slow down the number, as shown on the Tony Awards, you can just catch a glimpse of the pocket in the umbrella.
Good luck!

I am interested in renting your set and costumes. We will be playing The Drowsy Chaperone March 8-10th. Please email me back with more info. We do have a limited budget so we might rent only specific costumes but we are looking to rent all of you set pieces. Just let me know pricing and everything and if there is any deal you might be able to work with us. Our departments funding is fully raised by our dedicated students.
Thanks.
I am interested in renting costumes for my show on November 15 and 17, 2012. Please send me information.
Looking to rent costumes for Drowsy Chaperone, show dates May 3 – 6
Our high school has a very limited budget so we are only looking to rent a few crucial unique costumes (the oriental number and perhaps Monkey chorus costumes) and then the airplane. We do have a fly system but would only fly the plane not any performers – insurance concerns by the school. Do you rent partial orders? We perform March 30, 31, April 1, 2012
We are producing the Drowsy Chaperone early in March. I would like information on your costume package. Thank you.
I am interested in the Drowsy drops and costumes. Can you rent some parts of the package and not just the whole package.
Just to let everyone know, we answer all requests personally, so not all the replies appear under the comments section. Let us know if there’s anything we can help you with, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!

Hi, I forwarded your request to Mary Sue Dymak. She should be able to answer your questions within a couple of days. Thanks for looking!
I am very interested in renting and reserving the full package for The Drowsy Chaperone, Costumes, Sets, Props, and Backdrops. Our show dates are schedules for the middle of March, so I would like to see what the availability is for this show package now, and if it is available how soon we would be able to get everything prior to opening, the time it would take to put everything together to allow us to practice. I also have some questions about the airplane and a few more other things. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you,
Wayne Canady, Director
